Buck released 7 fresh/salt water fillet/cleaver knives in the New Section / Shirts in the Web Specials

Cool.
Buck has been lacking in this department.
I sold my boat awhile back, so.........

Those big ones are cool tho.
They're probably a bit bigger than what I need to clean smelt.🤏

I like the 145 but it's hard to justify $35 for an import filet knife. Especially when one of my favorite filet knives I've had for years, given to me but was less than $10. My second favorite was less than $5 and have several for that reason.

I was absolutely stoked to get this email... Until I saw the absolute garbage steel Buck decided to use for these. 5Cr15MoV across the board. What a disappointment. This was a really golden (and missed) opportunity to put out some really great fillet knives using an solid stainless like 12c27m.

5Cr15MoV being used they should be priced at $12.50
If it were in 420HC and USA made you'd be paying a lot more.

I'm under the impression that the American made knives by Buck in 420HC are declining in revenue. 420HC has always been a love or hate steel versus imported competition at price point for over 20 years. Those USA models in 420HC have went up $20-$30 in retail cost for several years now and that generates more negativity in sales potential. They're basically following in Gerber's footsteps at this point.
