yep^. so isnt just Buck, but appears maybe that Buck ain't doing them anymore. dont know if Buck is involved anymore or not on remington branded knives?

In short, NO. Buck teamed up with Remington for a few years. The relationship only lasted 3 years, 2018-2020. The Buck / Remington knife website is gone.

Remington was broken up in a bankruptcy sale in 2020 and the assets were purchased by 7 different buyers. For example, Ruger purchased the Marlin lever action assets. Roundhill Group owns the primary "Remington" brand name now. Quote from here.

Shut down in the aftermath of Remington Outdoors' federal bankruptcy filing and resulting action last September, the New York factory along with a Tennessee-based pistol barrel plant was acquired by Roundhill Group for $13 million. Now, as Vista Outdoors is moving forward with the traditional Remington branding for a wide range of outdoor products as well as the former company's primary ammo lines, Roundhill has rebooted the storied gun-making concern as RemArms.

So... not sure who is contracted to make Remington brand knives now but it is not Buck. Remington has not actually made knives themselves since 1933. Working backwards, makers that I can think of without resorting to Wiki are Buck, Bear & Sons, Camillus, Dupont.

Addendum, I was curious, here is how Remington was broken up at bankruptcy.

  • Vista Outdoor Inc. for its Lonoke ammunitions business and certain IP assets
  • Roundhill Group LLC for its non-Marlin firearms business
  • Sierra Bullets LLC for its Barnes ammunitions business
  • Sturm, Ruger, & Co. for its Marlin firearms business
  • JJE Capital Holdings LLC for DPMS, H&R, Stormlake, AAC and Parker brands
  • Franklin Armory Holdings Inc. for Bushmaster brand and some related assets
  • Sportsman’s Warehouse Inc. for Tapco brands

True, only the Bullet Knives were USA made, the others were rebranded versions of Buck's import line.
Buck made no traditional or unique Remington patterns.
All Remington knives during Buck's contract, USA or China produced, were based on existing Buck products.

I'm pretty sure I remember a thread here about the relationship with Remington ending with the bankruptcy.

This thread needs some pics for reference :)
