Im trying to find out if these knives are worth anything. It has everything it came with. These a posr card that came with it thay says retail was $200. Just trying to see if anyone know anything about these knives. The serial number is 4189. I tried searching for info and couldn't find anything if this has been discused already sorry. Thanks for any help guys

The knife is called the "Spirit of 76" and was one of Bucks earliest etched knives if I recall correctly. They made 7,600 of them which is really a large number and it took many years to sell them all. Nice knife as a collectable if you're into that sort of thing but the value is depressed because of both the large number produced and current economy. For having come out 35 years ago you can't say they've appreciated any if the original retail was $200 as you say. They appear frequently on the auction site. One recently sold for $60 which is extraordinairly low but $100 to $125 is more the norm. They will go unsold at $200+ asking prices. I was tempted by one recently at a local gun show for $75 but the dealer "forgot" the box although he said he was sure he had it somewhere at home.....

Yes, it was Buck's 1st etched but 7,600 were never made for some reason and I've seen them go for low figures. ? Still, its a great piece of Buck history. DM
