Haven't seen a lot of mention of them, anyone got one?

I found some NIB in the 'bay for $16.99 with free shipping, and since it's one of the few Buck folders with a reversible pocket clip for lefties, I ordered one.

Found a review on youtube by a fairly young kid, that seemed decent. He said it's discontinued, but he also said it was only available directly from Buck's factory store which is not correct, so not sure about the discontinued part???

Here's a couple of more pictures. I never paid much attentiion to them before, but I have a couple coming also. They are listed on Buck's web specials page.
Discontinued? Could be. They show up in the 2008 catalog, but not in the '09.

I had to do a double take. I still have the two alpha folders laying here on the desk minus their handles.

This one could easily be an evolution.

Dave,My wife would totally not allow me to put a knife on her walnut table.OH,nice knife photo as well.DM

Full liners and aluminum handles....this things gonna be a chunk ain't it????

They are a chunk! They're really not what I look for in a knife, but I kinda' like these. They are very smooth and easy to open.

I think they are something any urban commando would be proud to carry. :D

Cool, all the mall ninjas will wanna be like me!!!

Mine should be here in the next day or so, but for $16.99, if it's not my thing, I have a nephew that loves Buck knives....and loses them regularly working construction. :)

I had one for a number of months before it unfortunately fell off me somewhere in the woods. It was actually a pretty decent knife for 15 bucks though.

It was definitely a bit on the heavy side but I kind of liked the heft of it. The clip placement nice and I remember the lockup being pretty good. They only reason I haven't replaced it is I'm not into serrated blades anymore and that's all they offer it in.

I'd go with the all black version though, its a little less tacti-cool looking

Got mine today, not as heavy as I feared. Actually decent ergonomics and the lockup is rock solid. Typical Buck shaving sharp.

Truly is an ugly thing though! :)

They won't win any beauty contests, that's for sure. Another thing I noticed. I clipped it inside the cargo pocket of my shorts and it took both hands to get it out again. The clip was so tight, I couldn't pull it out for fear of ripping my pocket. I had to use my other hand to spring open the clip enough to clear the seam on the top of the pocket.:thumbdn:

The clips pretty tight on mine ot, I'm gonna carry it today and see how it pockets.

Wish there was a little space between the thumbstud and the handle. Makes it a little slow ot get a hold of to open.

How did the clip work for you? I tried it clipped in my back pocket and gave myself a wedgie trying to pull it out.

I'm going to take the clip off and carry it in a belt sheath if I carry it.

It carried just fine in my front pocket, couldn't even tell it was there after awhile. I figured sitting in a car would get me gouged by the aluminum handles, but didn't seem to.

I found a sheath that works perfectly. It's the nylon one for an Alpha Folding Hunter. It fits well even with the clip left on it.

I got one in black a couple weeks back and was pleasantly surprised.
Hefty, strong and a rather impressive blade.
I'm carrying just in my front pocket and liking it a lot.

These only come semi-serrated huh? I didnt used to like the look of em but theyve been growing on me. I havent explored them due to the blade:barf:. Just my opinion.
I'd get one if they installed a standard edge blade.

I bought a few of the Sandman's & an Iceman, and gave them to my friends sons. I was impressed with the easy opening, lock up, & fit & fiinsh on them. The boys have had them a few weeks and they love them(my buddy is impressed  with everything they've cut, carved and whittled:D,including the tree in the front yard:p)
