I'm interested in learning what the fair market value might be for one, NIB. I did a search & learned some interesting things about its history, but could find no mention of potential value. TIA.

I may be goin' to hell in a bucket, Babe, but at least I'm enjoyin' the ride.

Brian,

It is always hard to determine the secondary market value for a given knife unless you actually see some selling. I just checked my old files from the Buck Collector club classifieds and could not find one.
A couple things to keep in mind on yours. The older ones had a metal guard. Black or red micarta is older than the wood handled ones.
Hope this helps,

Thanks for the information, Joe. I very much appreciate your effort in checking your old files.

According to the FAQ on your site, the inverted V after the model number on the tang indicates that it was made in 1988. From your description it sounds like this is one of the newer ones. The handle could be micarta but I suspect it's natural wood -- dark, almost black, with a much lighter greenish/tan grain. It has 2 NS or stainless pins but no guard.

BTW, one just sold yesterday on eBay for $78. The seller was calling it a "Trout & Bird". It had a small bolster & 3 pins. Anyway, thanks again.
