I'm not into most of Bucks more modern offerings, but I like the look of the Sentry for some reason. It's on clearance now, (been for a long time I think) with apparently a lot of them in stock.

Curious if any body knows why it is on clearance? Can I assume it just wasn't selling (not popular), so it was discontinued? If anybody has one I'd like to hear your opinions about the knife.

who knows, but I'd guess the partial serrations probably didnt help sales. this is why I never bought one. also just like the endeavor but coated blade and that clunky large molle style sheath which doesnt appeal to everyone either.

the wm version mesa was far better. micarta scales and plain edge.

Those non ti ch coated blades don't look good after some use. Even the ti ch blades look "used" after some good use. I have a 6XX( I don't remember the number) that has a plain 420HC blade that's a nice knife. It has the same black thermo handle as the sentry.

I was busy buying the Buck Compadre Camp Knife and the Mesa. Very similar design.

I ended up getting one for about half what the clearance price was. Initial impression is good. The sheath seems decent. I like that my US MLK knife fits in the extra pocket. I wonder what Buck intended to go in there?
