Have a Buck 309 from 1994 and the main blade spring is giving up the ghost. Has a little snap when closing but there’s very little going on tension wise to keep the blade open. Wondered if I sent it to Buck(spa service?)if they would replace a spring for me? Not sure how they treat the knife when you send it in. Do them go through he whole knife, fix it up and sharpen it?

It is still under warranty. :)
Contact them and see what they can do for you. :)

From what I've seen here, they fix everything that is wrong, and sharpen the blades.

Basic Spa Service (cleaning and sharpening) is $7, repair service is $10. Check the Buck Knife website to print off the required form to explain what you want done and verify current pricing. Sounds like you need a repair, probably replace the blade if the tang is worn (and the spring if necessary). They try hard to please at Buck. OH

Unless the repair(s) fall under warranty. Then there is no charge. :)

I wish I could send in a 371 for a 301 springs transplant.

I doubt they would replace a spring, they would probably just replace the knife with a new 309
