Got a buck 110 auto that wasn't opening fully. This is how I got it, also it looked like it had fallen off a truck at highway speeds and bounced down the road. I'm talking dings in the silver bolsters. Blade was good but it wouldn't open fully ever. I bathed it in mineral oil but no luck. Even worked the action, blew out with 80 psi air. No luck.
So I sent it off to buck only saying it wouldn't open. This was my 1st time using their service. They gave her the spa treatment, buffed out all the dings in bolsters, and oiled it properly. It now fires hard with authority! I'm not sure how they were able to oil it and I could not. Gal told me they don't take it apart so who knows. Point of all this is they did it all for nothing. I would have gladly paid too. I sure appreciate companies like this. Wish I had a before picture but I don't. Thanks for reading.

That was some major pitting on that brass. Or was it dings from tapping stuff with it? Maybe it's just the light, but the wood didn't look too bad.
I picked it up at an antique store for $9.50. I bought it solely to send it to the spa and see what Buck could do. Kind of like a little experiment.

I can only assume that the previous owner used it to hammer small nails but I really have no way of knowing for sure.

The wood was in fact in fairly decent shape.

I had Buck replace a blade on one of my 110's. . What an awesome job they did. I couldn't believe it was the same knife. Way to go Buck.

Buck does not repair the autos. They ship a new one. I have no idea what they do with the one that you send in?

Interesting info. I did not know that. Do you have any idea why they don’t repair the autos?

They did mention if I had trouble again I would get a new one. I'm happy to keep this one as long as it's working properly.
