So I noticed my vanguard 192 sheath says 191, I'm assuming they don't make a 192 sheath and this is normal? I'm guessing the 191 sheath is just universal for the 192 vanguard knife and the 191 knife. just want to make sure that my 192 vanguard knife coming with 191 sheath is normal. thanks.

Yes, it's normal. I don't believe that I've ever seen a sheath marked 192.

:foot: Oops! I have to take that back, I just looked at my George Strait model 192 and sure enough, the sheath is stamped 192 on the back below the belt loop.

Do you think it is a newer thing they are doing? I mean as long as it is normal I don't care, it fits perfectly enough.

I just located another one of mine, standard model 191 from 2010 and it also has the 191 sheath. :o

So I am confused, why are some 192 vanguards coming with the 192 sheath, and others with the 191 sheath. I'm assuming there is no difference between the two, it seems to fit almost perfectly.

Mixup at the factory or mixup at the dealers? Who knows. One reason (really speculating here) could be that when they did that run of knives, they were out of the 192 marked sheaths and used the ones marked 191 since they are otherwise identical.

Sounds good to me. Edit: I like your signature. The other weird thing though is I have seen videos of people claiming to have had their knives for over 5 years or longer and in the video the sheath was marked 191, and it looked beat up so it didnt look like a replacement, so it may be a common thing they do I'm just guessing myself though.

I just ran across one from 1992 that has no number stamped on the sheath at all. Perhaps that's because the 191 had not been introduced yet.
