What is the time line on Buck sheath's that fold over the top and the newer style that wrap around the handle?
In other words, "what's the story on Buck Sheath's"?

I keep a Western bird/trout in my dad's old Buck 102 sheath (the 102 walked away years ago). He acquired it in the early 70's. No idea if new or not. So, my post places it SOMEWHERE in the past, and is prob of absolute 0 assistance to you. LoL

I think its easier to date the knife with the sheath rather than the sheath alone. Although there are some very wise members that could tell you within a few years of when your sheath was made.

It's not a simple thing to answer. Flap sheaths were phasing in about late 1963 and out by about 1980 but were available as accessories or with some limited editions for many years after that. If you want to know the age of a specific sheath, show me a good picture front and back and I'll give you a close idea.

I'm having a hard time copying the other side of the sheath, only the 119 model # is on the back side...
