My Sirus doesn't have the snap when opening that it once had. What is the best way to clean it and or oil it?

Thanks,

Chad

Do not take it apart there trickey to put back together. If you have access
to compressed air spray wd-40 in pivot area and blow it in/out a few times
it works for me

EXACTLY what Fishy said.

I had the same issue with one of my 298GY units. I adjusted the pivot to the "sweet spot". Took about 20 minutes to get it right. When you find that spot, count the turns as you back out the torx screw. Put on a drop of LocTite BLUE and call it a day.

Don't take the pup apart unless your patient when ya gotta figure out the rebuild.

Your mileage may vary...

Sneak in the sewing room and "borrow" some sewing machine oil. It is very light and a half a drop will do ya...;)

But do that after you hose it with WD40 and blow it out with the air compressor

I Don't Know About Wd40 But Hondalube Attracts Particles To Itself. Then I Blow It Out With Compressed Air. It Works Pretty Well For Me.;)

Since I used it to cut food often I put a few drops of corn oil on the pivot. It snaps open like it used to when it was new.

Now, if people start asking where that rancid oil smell is coming from, then I might have to change to some sewing oil or something. :)
