Buck Sirus Safety

Hi all,
I have an array of different knives, from the vantage select to pro and everywhere in-between! One of my favorite knives is my buck sirus with camo handles( the one that was sold on the web specials a while back). As much as I love the knife, the safety gets in the way and is uncomfortable. I have seen a few of them without the safety. How do I get the safety off? Do I cut it off? I need help because I love the knife but HATE the safety.
Thanks,
Bo

Wow........did not Buck put the safety there for a good reason?

I have never had ANY assisted opener go off in my pocket. Be it buck or not. There is no need for a safety on assisted openers like this. My question was not if Buck put the safety on for a good reason, it was how do I get it off!?

Again, wow.

I suppose anyone who tells you will share the responsibility for any mishap that befalls you.

;)

Take the torx screws in the handle out but leave the pivot torx bolt alone. You will be able to spread the handle apart just enough to pop the safety out. Done it on all of mine.

Do what jim guy said and be sure not to touch the pivot or you will have a mess on your hands. Been there and it is hard to put back together.

Thank you SOO much!!!! It worked like a charm!! It feels soooo much better without the safety hitting my palm!!!:D

i own a sirus web specials as well and leave the safety on. that is the fastest opening knife i own and i ended up slicing my finger up pretty bad with that knife. i left the safety off instead of being clicked on, put the knife in my pack pocket and reached for the knife and it opened and sliced up my finger. the safety is on there for a pretty darn good reason.
