Buck Skinner like Marbles Woodcraft

I just bought an old Buck skinner. The box label says model number 914, catalog 8011, Cabela's Replica. The It has a stacked leather handle and an upswept skinner blade. Over all, it looks much like a larger Marbles Woodcraft. It was made for marketing by Cabelas and is in as-new condition. Does anyone know when these knives were produced? I intended to use it as a working knife, but I'm wondering if I should hold it as a collectable? I'll e-mail a pic if anyone wants to see it.

Thanks,
Tim

Tim,

If my memory serves me correctly, your skinner was made in the early 90s. I'm not sure how many were made, so I don't really know how collectible they are. I don't see them very often though. Joe should be able to give you some more accurate info when he is back in the office. The annual shut down at Buck is currently under way.
