Someone may have already posted this and I missed it. Yesterday, while browsing at Walmart, the guy in the sporting goods dept. asked me if I wanted to see the new Buck pocketknife. What he showed me was a large stockman, a 307 I think, made in China. The knife had wood (or fake wood scales) and extremely thick blades. Good looking knife, but walk and talk was definitely not up to the old (70's and 80's) Buck standards. Also, the blades seem to be so thick as to be out of place on the knife. Price was $19.95. Maybe someone else will chime in with their opinions on the thick blades, and also if the action on the one I looked at is typical. It wasn't bad, just not what I remembered from my knives of that time. Seems that the old time walk and talk is getting harder and harder to find. Too much hand fitting needed, I guess. By the way, I picked up a 110 at Academy for $18.43 when they ran them on special just before Christmas. Has to be one of the best deals I ever got on anything. Vaquero
