I'm on a traditional kick lately and decided to pick up a Buck Cadet (Rosewood). I carried a Schrade Uncle Henry for years when I was younger (old one, carbon steel, made in the US) stockman pattern and this Cadet reminded me of it.

My question is, does anyone have a good picture showing the different sizes of these styles from Buck (Solitaire, Cadet, etc.)? I can see the measurements but some of them are really close so I thought a pic might help.

Thanks.

Sorry no pic, but a heads up that Buck has the Lancer Chairman's version (305) as a web special now for $22. Free shipping if you get to $50.

Nice knives and very solid. I prefer the Solitaire, myself. But, some might feel it is too long. It is, however, very slim. The Cadet is a sweet knife, as well. For the price, just get one.
One thing about the rosewood models. They tarnish easily. Of course you could lacker them.

Sulaco,

I don't own a solitary Solitaire, but here are some 300s you can compare for size. It isn't pretty but it will do. From top to bottom: 305, 309, 303, 312, 313, 301, 311, 307, 314.

Just be aware the Buck slipjoints can be "slightly" addictive.
On the plus side, they are inexpendive to buy.

So far, I only have three; a 301 with black derlin covers, a 371 with G10 covers, and a 389 with walnut(?) covers.
I saw a really nice looking 371 the other day at Walmart with stag covers. Probably imitation stag, but it looked good. I'll probably buy one next year, if I have the "spare" cash.

Don't know if these will help you or not, 301 Stockman, 309 Companion, 305 Lancer.
