I sent in a 25+ year old Buck 110 recently. The blade was very worn down. I sent a note saying that if a good regrind on the blade was not possible to just put in one of the boxes they keep for Missionaries as it wasn't of much use to me as is. So they are off the hook, just sharpen it and throw it in the box for a very good cause. Right? I got it back a little over 3 weeks later, polished and primped to almost new condition with a brand new blade. It is in such good condition that I almost hate to use it. Standing behind their knives is just what Buck does.

Thanks for a great knife and a better company.

That is impressive. The only other company I know that will do something like that is Ruger. Buck and Ruger. That's like Grandma and Apple Pie.

Sounds like I need to get me a new Ruger and top it off with a Leupold scope! :D

Thanks for the kind comments!! :)

Same kind of story for me from a few years back (90-ish). I abused my 110 for years, cutting metal banding, using it as a hammer etc, till the lock back broke. I stuck it in a drawer for a few years and decided to send it in. I told Buck that I'd abused it, but that I'd like it fixed 'cause it was a gift from my wife and it had sentimental value. I got it back a while later, with a new blade, the hammer divits ground out and the bolsters polished. You can still see some of the deeper divits, but they did a great job.

So this kind of service is something that they've been doing for a while and obviously continue. Gotta love it.
