Buck Stories

I was impressed with the Build-A-Buck tool chest full of Spitfire parts. It's one thing to configure different 722s in the online custom shop, but it would be so much better to see all the choices in person. Better yet, if they would allow you to handle the different options and build your own custom Spitfire! It's on my bucket list to visit Post Falls someday and tour the factory.

The guy has some really cool videos. I'm always surprised when he does the "pocket check" videos and none of the folks he talks to have a Buck on them.

He did a pocket check video at the Sturgis Rally and it just blew my mind that today's "bikers" don't carry Bucks like they used to. Back in the 80s you'd see 110's and 112's galore on the belts of riders at Sturgis. It was all bikes, Bucks and beer. Now, it's "trailered-in" bikes, boutique knives and seltzers.

Enjoyed the video. Buck is a stop for me when I head East on I-90. Last time there I picked up 3 112’s for me and a couple of buddies. My youngest daughter’s classmate went to work at Buck for a couple of years out of college doing something with social media or advertising. She’s since moved back over here to be closer to family. It seems like this day and age a lot of the younger people bounce around from job to job. But hey, it’s good to see people want to work at Buck and keep the machines rolling.

The 112 seemed to be a popular choice by the employees and some of the best odd ones before the 2005 relocation to Post Falls were made for them. I once had a 112 with very oversized Ebony handles I'm sure was made for a employee and look for the early odd ones today.

I don't ride or have a motorcycle, but if I had a Harley-Davidson, there is no chance that you'd ever find me riding it without a Buck 110 in a leather pouch on my belt. It should be required by law.

I think the 317 was popular with that crowd, also. When I had my Harley, there was no Buck 110.

The cynic in me can't stop but think how staged this was.....so many clean, polished, new looking knives. And what WHACKO really carries that many knives?

But the knife nut in me ejoyed the whole darn video!

Might have been staged, but it was fun!

I agree on whackos carrying that many knives. Only a whacko would carry so few at one time!

I haven't since so much flannel since I last saw Al and his mom on Home Improvement.
Fun video, though.

I did spend roughly 10 years working at H-D dealerships, I saw very few Buck knives.
The knives guys had were primarily assist or flippers, Gerber and stuff like that.
