Does anybody know anything Of a Strider SMF or folding knife that is an automatic ( switch blade ) . I had hear that there were 500 made.

Probably not the best idea to resurrect a 9 year old thread. Especially if it is about Strider.

I believe you are referring to the Strider/Pro-Tech Auto SnG collaboration. I don't recall the exact number made, but it was a limited run.

Thank you for your reply an information . My strider has buck on the blade under the Strider logo and I cannot find any info on it. I am sorry for bringing up an old thread
I am fairly new to the forum.

There's never been an auto SMF.

I am not the most knowledgeable about Striders. Maybe it is not an SMF, but it looks very similar and has on the blade Strider, the Strider logo under it and the word Buck under that.
It is double action. I was told that there were 500 of these Strider double action autos made, but I can find no information on information on them. If you can help it would be great.

Research Buck Knives model 889 as a start. But I've never seen a Buck-Strider auto.

After starting with the buck Strider 889, I finally found what I have. It is a Buck Strider 880 with a 3& 7/8 inch grey spear point ATS-34 blade.
It is a double action switchblade ( both Manuel and automatic opening ).
I will try to send photos of it as I cannot find any info on Buck Strider regarding the double action.

I'd love to see it, if you can't get posting pics figured out you can email them to me and I'll post them for you (chippedmetal at gmail). It could be a conversion... is there possibly a Vallotton Viper logo etched in the backside of the blade?

I'm guessing a conversion also as Buck wasn't doing autos at that time (I do not speak for Buck).

I am having a little trouble figuring out the photo posting, so I will be sending you the photos to post.
Thank you

I forgot to mention that there is no Valloton Viper logo on it.

That makes some sense. It could very well be a conversion.

I forgot to mention when I got the Buck Strider I was told that there were 500 made like this, but I do not have any factual information on this.

The only limited run of an AUTO Strider collaboration, is the Strider/Pro-Tech SnG as I indicated in post #2.

I am not aware of a limited run of Buck/Striders, and certainly not automatic ones.

Your knife appears to be a one-off conversion.
