Ran across a NIB Buck Strider 880 spear point marked BOS and 154CM. Price tag is $149.95. Can anyone tell me anything about knife in general and if that's a decent price? TIA

I've tried to do some searches and see that this model was mostly available in ATS-34. Not much mention of 154CM. I'd appreciate any history on the Buck-Strider collaboration. From my searches it looks like $150 might be a little high but I really don't know for sure.

I like this knife very much. I have the ONE of ONE Pre- production PROTOTYPE of this exact knife.

I bought a few regular 880SP Bos 154's at the BUCK Factory store to sell for my expensive BuckMaster habit.

Here is what I wrote on the eBay ad I had

Thanks for the info. Do you know what years they were made? What's the going price for on with 154CM? Seems like there were some made in BG-42 as well.

I bought one of these awhile back for $129, it has the BOS heat treat on it with the 154CM steel. I'd say, get one while you can, I know they'll one day be worth a lot more....same for the 651 Pig Sticker I think

Thanks for the replies. I posted in the General discussion and got a bit more info. It looks like they switched to 154CM near the end or production though I'm not quite sure what year that was. Not much info on price but from the responces I have gotten I think that $150 is probably top dollar.

The Buck Factory shop was selling these at a clearance price of $54.00 last June. When I visited the shop last Friday they were sold out. I passed at the time because I had a couple in ATS-34 and really did'nt need another one. Then of course I started thinking I might add it for my Strider/Buck collection but was too late. As for the $150 price tag, you can still find NIB ATS-34 880's in the $100-$125 range.

Decided to go for it, $139.95, the dealer knocked of $10 and ate the sales tax. It had a little blade play but after a quick tear down and reassmbly she's tight as a drum and only slightly off center. Really a rugged, heavy duty knife. I like it.

On the top of the box, near the end, partially obscured by the price sticker is a white sticker that has a bar code, "MADE N US" and 08-13-07. It folds down over the end of the box and has STRIDER SPEAR POINT. 0880BKSSP-B and CAT 5103. Does it seem likely that 08-13-07 is the date the knife was made? I was thinking the time frame for these ended earlier than that but then again info isn't that easy to find.
