Hey guys, I just recieved my Buck/Strider 880SP, very sweet knife. I ordered it from New Graham and they were great like usual. The clip on this knife however is not set up for left carry (even though I'm a righty), I'm just curious if this is the most current design or not? Could someone also give me the breakdown of the variations as time has passed, thanks :)

I'll post a review of this in a few days after it goes to work with me this week, but I will say one thing, this thing is SHARP!

Mike DONT TAKE IT TO WORK!!!! I just got mine today as well and it is the switchable clip double thumb stud variety. I was kind of hoping for the older modle with the slightly thicker liner lock. If yours is brand new and your just looking for the most updated model maybe we could work something out.

If not, Give it hell bud! I having a hard time BELIEVING the thickness of this blade. All this time ive been out to find an unbreakable knife and I think I may have found it. Now if I can just stand to carry this brick!

Yep, old style isn't abi, but the new one is. The blade looks slightly different as well.

The Buck box is labeled April of 04 where the UPC is  I love this thing, tough as a brick sh*thouse!

I don't work in an office enviornment at all, work with a bunch of guys for the water dept. for my town. Mostly pulling hydrants out of the ground and fixing them and going to water main breaks and the like. My nickname at work is "Knife"... wonder why :D

Do I have the version with the thicker liners then? It's got the 3 screw clip, righty only, and the single thumb stud.

From what I understand you do. The new one that I have has a bit thinner linerlock, but the tip of it has been heat treated. You can see a 'flame kiss' rainbowish color at the tip. This eases my mind about the liner being a bit thinner.

Honestly having not held one with a thicker liner I dont know how much thinner this one is, cant be much, as its still beefy enough to lock up tight.

I havnt decided if its a keeper or not, as I only keep ones I plan on using right now. It probably will be just because its such an awsome horse of a knife, Im sure I can find some reasonable application (hunting !!) if not EDC.

Weird, mines got the heat treated tip too  ... I noticed it while looking over the knife and then realized it was probably heat treated to help hold up better at the contact point. We need someone to help us out and clarify things for us.

I wish I could post a pic! Wonder what the difference in the blade shape is(was)

Heeeeeeeellllllllllp!!! LOL :D
