Why is the liner lock on a Buck/Strider Tarani 882 so thin? I currently own around 80 knives ranging in price from $5.00 Chinese junk to several custom knives costing about $600.00. My collection includes a small and a large Buck Strider of the 880 series. The Buck/Strider Tarani 882's liner lock is thinner than some of my cheap Chinese junk knives. Why?

Because it works :D
I had my doubts at first, but mine locks up solid. I'm also sure a lot of thought went into it's design and testing. This was not a creative idea just to be different. The way I look at it, when you have the "Strider guys", Steve Tarani, and the experts at Buck design a piece of equipment for LEO use, then it passes in the field testing, it's good enough for me.
I purchased an SBT (non-serrated) for occasions that I don't want to chance taking my SnG due to having it stolen or confiscated - I have full confidence in the SBT.

Semper Fi,

Bob
