Howdy folks,

I've got one of these on the way, hoping some folks would be kind enough to post some pics and share some thoughts--give me something good to read and pics to look at while I wait.

I know there were a few different versions of these at various price points, but a search of the forums only brings up a few posts dealing with the SBTG version (G10 scales, torx screw construction).

Are the liners on this version thicker than on the less expensive models? I've read they are, I've read they're the same. I've also read the 882 SBTG versions had few if any issues with the liner lock engaging too little or too much--true?

When were these first produced and when were they discontinued?

Any thoughts and experiences shared would be appreciated--and pics are always nice if you happen to have them too.

Thanks folks,

Heekma

For some reason I am thinking that Buck made the liners thicker on this model. If I remember correctly, and THAT is a big if, the original liners were .040" and went up to .050". Still really thin in my world. Hope you like it and give a review when it comes.

Thanks cutter. It's good to have some hard numbers as a source for comparison--visual guesses can be deceiving, especially when the numbers are so small.

The ZT 0350's liners are something like .78" thick, so that gives me a good comparison. I know the ZT's liners are considered very thick compared to most.

Best,

Heekma

I think that the .050" liners were standard and what you were likely to find on many liner lock knives a few years ago before manufactures begin thickening them up a bit.
