Hi fellas I was just looking at getting the 888, but I found about 3 blade
grind variations.

2 flat grind and 1 hollow gring.

which is the currently produced model and which blade style would be the
best to purchase?

thanks for the help fellas.

There are three (3) blade grinds??? Thought there were only two...
I have two of the earlier model with the ATS-34 blade with the flat grind and two of the current production model with the hollow grind.

What were the two types of flat grinds offered?

I too would like any additional info available on the 888 Solution.
It's one of my favorite fixed-bladed knives!

Thanks and regards,
Mike

I have only seen the two blade grinds - flat grind in the bottom 2 pictures and the hollow grind in the second picture. The first picture I have seen before, but I don't know if they actually made it. Maybe someone from buck could help us out on that.

I bought a flat grind when they first came out and it's my primary hunting knife. I also have a hollow grind. I was told the flat was more of a durable edge for survival tasks like chopping and the hollow as a better cutting edge. The hollow is currently being produced, but you can still find the flat on ebay. They also made 500 of them in BG-42 - I would love to get one of those! Great knife - highly recommended.
