Well, I've had my Buck Strider for a few days now, and overall I must say it's impressive.
My personal Strider has a few problems, but hopefully the warranty covers these.
However, there are a few things that I'm not too pleased with...
Why there is only one thumbstud is beyond me. Yes, you can reverse the thumbstud, but the screw sticks out if you do this. And yes, you can "pinch" the blade between your thumb and middle finger to get it started, and then thumb it open the rest of the way, but this won't work too well if the blade is wet and slippery.
Buck really should provide a sheath with this knife, especially at the price they charge for it. It's just not very practical as a "pocket knife".
Closing off the bottom of the knife would have been nice, just in case you need to use the knife to gently hammer something. The totally open frame construction prevents this, although I guess you could use the sides of the knife.
And while I'm not totally sure on this point, it seems that Buck used some Torx screws and some Allen screws..reason unknown. Either use all Torx or all Allen, not some of each.
Well, am I just nitpicking the Buck Strider, or are these some valid points?
