i just got a new buck/stider tanto back (after having to send another one back to where i bought it for having an improperly ground tip) and the new one seems to have slight up down blade play when its open, it looks like it is because the liner doesnt engage the blade all the way. what should i do about this, will it eventually correct itself as the liner engages more and more? or does it need to be fixed?
thanks

take the top scale and liner off, place the liner(locking one) where you want it to be when open and replace the scale and liner!

Todd1, thats just great. Tell the guy how to void his warranty. What happens when he tries your quick fix and it doesn't work because there is actually a manufactures defect?
Payback, your Strider can be perfect. Mine was. Send it back, call Buck (Shirley's great), or E mail Joe Houser. They'll make it alright for you.

Later,
Alex

my 880's liner would 'stick' locked when inertia opened to the point of needing a screwdriver to unlock it, but after a few hard openings (about a dozen or so) it seemed to break in and now works fine - whack it open good a few times and maybe it will start working right.....

If i understand the problem, it sounds like you got one with the liner in an underbent condition. The best remedy is to send it in to us and we will fix it under warrantee. ( Even if you already tried to fix it yourself).

Take care,

ill be sending it in shortly, (i emailed a couple days ago about it) didnt try to fix it by myself, short of opening it a couple hundred times and tightening up the pivot pin.\
thanks!
