Buck Strider question on whether this is really the 1st of 500 production

Hey yall,

I picked up this knife recently and on the blade is a stamp that says

1st production run
1 of 500

It is a 880 with Tanto point BG42 steel and has the BOS Stamp.

What is the worth on one of these?

Reason for asking is should I keep it in the dresser or carry it.

I do not want to carry it if it is worth money as a collector piece.

I need a carry knife.

Yes, that is one of the first 500 made. It is pretty collectible, especially with the BG-42 blade and the etch. I wouldn't use that one myself, but then again, maybe I would...
