Hi there,

I've owned a Buck Strider spear point for some time and now there appeared some little blade
play from side to side, yes very little then.
My version is with different number of bronze
washers in different side of the blade. Now
I'm thinking of if I can fix the play by just
tighten up the screws? And if violating the
"default setting" of the screws will do any
harm? Thanks in advance for any answers!

Tony,
I had the same problem with my small BG-42 spearpoint.
Tightening the screw only made the knife impossible to open.
I sent mine back, twice, before Buck was able to get it right.
It looks like they merely took out a washer from one side.
I'm sure they did something else too, but at least now it has nice action and locks up solid.
Good luck with yours.

Lenny,

Thanks much for the information. I'm in China so
I'm afraid I can't send it back to Buck anyway. :(
Well, it's good enough for now, if couldn't be
made perfect.
(and a question for Buck: do you have any plan
to set up an agency in China? :D)

I still have another question needs forumates'
help: there are a number of sheaths listed in
Buck's website, which one is suitable for 880?
I found it a little inconvenient to carry it
in pocket. I've purchased a fabric sheath from
a local guy, but this thing is nearly worn out
recently. I want to get a real Buck thing.
Thanks again.

Tony

Lenny,
If you can locate a model 446 Goliath sheath, I think it will fit the full-size Strider. The knife has been discontinued for a couple years but you may be able to find one. It is a Cordura sheath with a flap-over cover and snap.
Joe may have a few of them at the plant, come to think of it.

Thanks Larry!

I have a friend that is currently in US. Besides
the buck sheaths, are there any other choices
of sheath for the big Strider Buck? Pictures
and web pages and contact information are
appreciated. My friend can bring me one when
he comes back.

SOE Here.
We make all of the sheathes that come with the Strider/Buck fixed blade knifes as well as all of the nylon sheathes for the Strider fixed blade knifes and the nylon belt pouches for their folders.

We offer a pouch for both of the stride/buck folders. By that I mean the small and the larger ones. We offer a pouch that has a fold over tab on the back to attach it to a belt. It has a fstx buckle on the front. We use the fstx over a simple Velcro closure because it’s more secure. The last thing you want to do is go to grab you $150.00 plus knife and find its not there. You also may want to open the pouch some times with out the noise of the Velcro.

All of our products are backed by a lifetime warranty that you will never find you’re self-using.

Thank you
