Hi, guys. Is the Buck Strider a good slicer / chopper? I wonder what affect the unusual blade thickness has on these activities. (My uneducated guess would be that it would be an advantage for chopping and a disadvantage for slicing.)

If it is the folder instead of the fixed blade that u are checking on, then personally I am not really a big fan of using it as a chopper. For the folder version of S/B that I have I think it performs well in slicing, and I think it would do good in chopping too (just to remamber to hold it near the end of the handle when u need to chop with it, otherwise u can't get a lot power delivered to the blade for chopping) provided that if I really have to use it to chop. Blade thickness has little to do with itss slicing capacity on this particular knife, in my experience. Hope it helps.
