I've heard the liner lock is quite thin on this knife, which really doesn't make me believe it is too strong. Have any of you had problems with it? failing and such?

If someone could post a picture of this knife, opened, showing the lock, that would be wonderful.

Thanks alot.

I can't post pics, but I've been using an SBMF for a few weeks now for utility chores like cutting up cardboard boxes, whittling, carpet, etc.
Lock has been great. Mine locks up about 70% across the blade and seems rock solid. Passes the "spine whack" test with flyinig colors.

Would I use it to support human weight? No. Will it be fine for everyday normal cutting tasks? Yes.

Buck Strider 889 and 882! LOVE THEM... Quality knife no problems with liner lock... Dont know what problems you could have???? Locks blade open...
Good luck
Jim

The liner lock on my 889 is rather thick, and I honestly can't picture what it would take to get it to fail.
