I purchased a Mini Buck Strider w/BG42 Tanto Blade from Knifecenter, I love the knife, however I like to throughly check things out and took the knife apart to check it out. One of the small Torx screws that hold the scales on striped out. I was using the correct size bit (T8 I purchased from Snap-On). No biggie I thought, I called the customer service number for Buck to purchase a replacement screw and a couple of extras. They told me they can't sell the screws because of their cost accounting system, but if I sent in the knife for repairs they would replace the screw. I guess from their point this is reasonable, but I don't want to be without my knife for 2-3 weeks (PA to CA and back) Any sugestions:confused:

email Joe Houser.
He sent me a few screws free
when I did the same thing you did.
Joe is the best.

Wow, it stripped after you took it apart just once?

It's really a shame they didn't have the screws threads extend into the liners... Now this is getting me worried about the same happening to me (though I haven't gotten my 880 yet).

I was thinking about getting my blade coated at Bodycote, but the 3 week waiting time would kill me.

Hope you get things fixed up quickly.

Oh, I didn't realize that it was the screw that stripped, not the threads. In that case, it wouldn't really have mattered whether the screws extended into the liners.

Yup.., call Joe..., shouldn't be a big deal...
