Buck/Strider Service

Hi,

I've got a small Buck/Strider BG42 spearpoint (1st prod.Run) which was my daily user for literally ages now. Wonderful little workhorse. Never disappointed me.
Unfortunatly it developed some up-and-down bladeplay. The liner worked it's way over to the last 1/3 of the ramp now.

As the 880/881 has been discontinued long time ago I would like to know if anybody here knows if they can still service the knive and maybe replace the locking side?

They haven't really been discontinued that long although yours is the oldest one. I am pretty sure Buck will give it a tune up. Give them a call. If not I know STR will. Here is a link to his sub forum:

I would send a note with it that you DO NOT want it replaced with anything other than the same BG42 880/881 if they cannot fix it. If they don't have the parts, or it would be more trouble than its worth, they will just replace it with a similar model unless you specifically tell them you don't want that.

For a spearpoint BG42 SB, i'd try really hard to keep that same one.

yes tell then you want it back!
they will mark an X on the backside of the blade so it can not be returned a 2ed time and send it back.. is what they did to mine i sent in..
