Hey Guys...

Just got a customers Buck Strider Solution on my Bench for some custom sheathwork...

Man,, am I Ever impressed with this blade....

Very well made,, feels Excellent in the hand..
Unfortunately I can't test out any cutting or anything other than fondling it as it isn't mine:(

However, this is one knife that is for Sure being put on my short list of knives to order..

Real Nice Job boys!!!

Its a hell of a nice blade...

Its one hell of a nice blade, and now it will have one hell of a nice sheath! :D

Not to get down on Buck (or Strider), but I didn't care much for the sheath it came with. The kydex insert wears on the blade finish. :(

I can't wait to get the knife back with some nice new kydex! :D

I have the BG42 version and like it. The only gripe I have is that the edge is not ground all the way back to the choil. It stops about a quarter of an inch before the choil. I do not understand why it was not ground all the way back.

Oh yeah, that one comes very, bery close to almost being a real Strider!

Eric,
Thanks for the comments! I hope you will find one for yourself soon enough.
As far as the design goes, the Strider guys designed every aspect of the knife for a certain reason. I am not completely sure i understand the comment about the edge though. I know they are edged all the way back to the rounded portion of the choil. Maybe one of the Strider guys can shed some light?
Take care,

Its hard to describe the edge. It is quite sharp until about 1/4 of an inch to the eddge of the choil. Then the sharpened edge splits apart so at the edge of the choil the blade has no edge and is quite flat and quite blunt. Perhaps this was done so that you do not cut your finger if your finger moves to the extreme edge of the choil ?

Hey Joe...

Ohh yes,, there will for sure be a place for a Buck/Strider Solution in my lockup...

To be quite honest with you,, (Shhhh,, don't tell Mick I said this),, but I've had a few Striders cross my bench, and in my personal opinion The Buck/Strider is nicer than some of the Striders I've seen...

IM2..

Thanks for the comments.. She was pressed this morning....

As for the Buck/Strider Cordura/kydex sheath...

Believe it or not....

It's Top shelf, US made and one of the better OEM sheaths on the market.. Believe me, I've seen the best of the best and the worst or the worst....

Cool! I can't wait to get it back! :D

BTW, could you loosen the kydex insert on the Buck/Strider sheath so it doesn't wear the finish?

Hi IM2....

""BTW, could you loosen the kydex insert on the Buck/Strider sheath so it doesn't wear the finish?""

I'll have a look at it,, but I'd have to field strip the sheath,, and I'm not too sure I want to open up a wasps nest,,so to speak...

Not really too, too much you can do with a setup like that....

I could however,, (Probably) build a custom insert for it..:)

Hmmm Interesting....

Actually, if you twist the little black bit at the bottom of the sheath, you can remove the insert really easily.

Email me about a custom insert. :D

Hey IM@..

Yaaa I tried that...

The nylon isn't wide enough to do anything with...
