Let me first say, i love this knive and i want one bad, the Buck/Strider solution is exactly what i am looking for in a fixed blade. The only thing that i dont understand is the price. At $155, it is $45 away from the Srider MFS. Granted it looks as though the solution has a better sheath and i think i would prefer the G10, but i would pay the extra $45 for a simmilar knife that is actually from strider.

I felt that it would make more sense if it were priced about even with the folder at 120 or so, what do you guys think? should there be a greater price difference between strider and buck/strider?

Still its a great looking knife and i may end up with one eventually

LizardKing,

I think you have a valid point, but maybe you should look at it another way. Now, if you got the knife from Strider, it would have an ATS34 blade, heat treated by Paul Bos (no explanation needed). It would be designed by Mick and it would be assembled by human hands.

Now, if you ordered from Buck, this knife would have an ATS34 blade, heat treated by Paul Bos, and assembled by human hands.

If when the new knife arrived it was not perfect in every way, you could send it back to Buck and it would be taken care of.

So, yes, you do have a valid point with the price, but either way, I don't see where you could go wrong.

MSRP and what the 'net dealers will be charging are two different things. The folding Strider/Buck lists for $190, but sells most places for the $120 you mentioned, so I think you'll see some scaling back on the Solution, once they are out in quantity.
Of course, as usual, YMMV.
Merry Christmas.

I agree with Brian. Give it time and it will come down in price. It will be a good value as the strider folder from buck is. In the end buck and strider just want to sell a lot of them.

I think the Solution is a bit bigger then the MFS and of course G-10 scales would add another $50 bucks to Striders prices.
