MW:
My knife is just a hair over 9.75 inches overall, 4.75 inches from handle to blade tip, with 4 inches of cutting edge. Strider uses 1/4 inch stock for their own knives , but this knife is "only" 0.16 inches thick. The BSS is a very solid knife and much sharper than I expected. This knife is overkill for almost any normal cutting job, but would make a good overall outdoor knife. Considering how solid it is, it's actually pretty compact and not unreasonably heavy. Some have complained that the finish on the G10 handles is too rough, but I think the finish matches the knife perfectly. This is a knife for tough jobs in harsh environments, where a grippy handle is what you want. The ergonomics of the handle are nice, too.
Unfortunately, I haven't been on the sort of extended hiking or camping trip that would justify carrying this knife since I got it, so I have nothing to say about actual cutting performance, except to note that the heat treating on these blades is done by the legendary Paul Bos, which is about as good a guarantee of steel quality as you can get.
This is one of the most impressive production knives to come out in the last couple of years.
