Yes I know there are previous posts on this knife but I wanted to get a fresh one up congratulating Buck on another winning collaboration with Strider.

The ATS-34 steel is exceptional! Whatever Paul Bos is doing with your ATS-34, keep him at it. Many think of this as an "old technology" steel. I certainly love S30V as much as everyone else but Buck's ATS-34 as I've seen it in Buck Striders (large and small spearpoints, SBT, now the Solution)is everything you'd want. Scary sharp out of the box with a tough edge that's easy to touch up on a SharpMaker.

Thanks! I'm looking forward to more Buck Strider collaborations. (How about an SnG, SmF, or MT?).

roshi,

There's a new bunch of Buck-Strider fixed blades in 420HC (Bos treated) coming out in the first quarter, supposedly, of 2004.

I think that the world would be happy to see a Buck Strider Nightmare framelock. If they'd make them in both lefty and righty versions, I would share the world's happiness.

Odd I've been getting real intrested in this knife lately. Keep us posted on any info please.

Thanks,

Joe

The request for a Buck/Strider framelock has come up before, but from what I understand it probably wont happen. Especially because it would compete with Strider if done on the SBT frame

I've heard this before as well and I doubt if Josh will comment on it but I don't really think a B-S SnG or SmF would put a dent in Strider sales. The SnG sells for $ 400 even used in the aftermarket. The SmF starts at $ 475. The SXL "Nightmare" styles are well over $ 700 I believe. Strider sells out every run of these immediately.

I assume a Buck - Strider SnG collaboration could be sold in the $ 150 to $ 200 street price range rreaching an entirely diferent market than the Strider knives.

I know the Buck Strider clones are what convinced me to buy Strider and having Striders hasn't stopped me from buying Buck knives.

From my point of view Buck Strider collaborations on a frame lock like the SnG and SmF and nightmare versions of those would only sell more knives for both companies.

I'd love to have a B-S SmF for a travel knife cause I love my Strider SmF but would never pack it in checked bags.

Just my $ 0.02.
