Over the past year and a half I have loved using my Strider Solution, but the first half inch or so left unsharpened have always bugged me. I have heard in the past that owners of the flat ground 888 have sent it in to the factory to have the first half inch or so sharpened. If this is true could someone post some info about pricing and such. I did a search but found no specifics. Thanks in advance.

I had the same work done on my Solution. The best way is to contact Joe Houser or Josh Rummerfield directly to make arrangements. In my case, there was a mixup when I sent my knife in and they replaced the blade with the newer saber grind blade instead of grinding the heel sharp like I requested. Joe was kind enough to personally make sure I got my original blade back, ground just as I asked. These guys won't let you down.

With the move going in it has been hard to say for sure what we can do from day to day. The last time i looked, we still had a bead blast booth set up. This is needed to give the knife a new finish after we do the grinding. Wilde Bill Cody, our custom guy, is still here and he does the actual regrind by hand. One thing to keep in mind is that if your knife has anything engraved on it at all, it will be lost and can't be replicated here. The first knives in BG-42 were laser engraved and if your falls into that category, the engraving will be lost.
If I get the knife before the end of this month, I should be able to turn it around within a week. If it gets here after that, It could take as long a 2 months.
