I had been wanting one of these for a while, and was able to buy one off a fellow Forumite. What a great little tank of a knife! First, this thing locks up like a fixed blade, I don't fear it closing on me. Second, it's stout as hell. The blade thickness is the same as the full size model! But the shallow hollow grind gives it a razor edge, and it's a great slicer. I used it on all kinds of package opening, cutting up cardboard boxes, and various food cutting. I took it hiking and peeled a bunch of mule fat branches to dry for hand drills, cleared branches hanging over the trail just with a flick of the wrist. I even used a baton, and pounded it through some wrist thick logs. It took a lot of work, but I finally dulled it a bit. 10 passes on the grey sticks and 10 passes on the white sticks (Crock Sticks) and it shaves bald patches in my arm with ease. The G10 comes VERY rough and grippy, which I like for grip, but it raised hell on my pocket when clipping and unclipping. So I took off the clip, and lightly sanded down the handle. Now, it's still grippy, but doesn't gouge into my pocket. Overall, I'm very happy with this stout little knife and will putting many miles on it!

Excellent buy, I use mine very hard, and it has not let me down. I carry it in concert with my SnG.

Mick gave me one of those for my son in Buena Park recently, and Trace has been using the hell out of it.. He really likes it, and carries it on all his adventures:D He has a very decent collection of knives now.. That and the Kershaw, Ken Onion gave us are his two favorite folders..
He is the envy of all his buddies.HA!..

I picked one up recently on Ebay for a steal ($52 shipped). It has turned out to be a good EDC. It cuts much better than I expected. It doesn't shave hair very well, but still slices better than knives with sharper and thinner blades.

I think I'll keep it.

The mini strider is a brick of a knife. I say so because the thing is almost as thick as it is long! The liners on mine are incredibly thick and although there is some slight blade play, I don't think this one will ever fold up on you. I had the tanto though and the grind was very thick and didn't slice as well as it could have.

Settle down Beavis. :p

I got lucky. Keep an eye out on ebay. You might get lucky too. All I did was bid once and let it sit.

Per the people at Buck the G-10 on the new models will be smoother, but still grippy. You will be able to mount the pocket clip on both sides, and I think the thumbstud is ambidextrous, but I'm not sure. I have the mini spearpoint, and I love it to death. I just bought a tanto in BG42, can't wait!!!!

I look forward to the new tanto version, it's supposed to be less obtuse than the older model. I'm amazed every time I use this thing! And it sharpens up like a razor, which is unusual since it's pretty thick.

I don't own one of these.., but used one for a full day in my yard. Really strong little knife (as mentioned). I'm not crazy about the feel in the hand (just me)..., but I do think it's a heck of a buy, and certainly a keepable beater...
