Buck strider spear point or this....

The Benchmade looks very nice. It would probably be my choice for general outdoor use. However, I like the Buck Strider as well. Either one would probably serve you well.

Honestly, having handled the Buck/Strider almost all other folders look/feel flimsy to me now. haven't handled this doug ritter in question yet, but the B/S 880, oh boy, it is just so nice. From the pic in the link that u provided, it looks like my B/S 880T could break the RSK Mk1 in half easily. ergo-wise, don't let the blocky look of the B/S fools you, it's actually quite comfy, especially when u r gripping it in wet conditions - believe it or not the handle's pattern on the g-10 just simply gripping u back when it's wet. I give the knife a 5 stars out of five. :D The bottom line is, maybe the RSK Mk1 is a tough cookie too but i just can't speak for it till I actually see one in real. I can only speak for the B/S 880s now - they have been widely used and they are just plain good. :) My 2 cents.

I wish they could be had with a better lock, and something like S30V, Allthough Im sure ats-34 is nothing to sneeze at. I just need to save up and get a Strider SNG and be done with it :D

A fine purchase indeed. You won't be sorry you waited for an SnG. I have 2 Gen5's and love them. They can be a bit tough to come by, but keep your eyes peeled on the for sale boards here and on "other" forums. Be ready to pull the trigger if you find a new one.
Good luck,

John...
