Just got one of the above and first impression is WOW. This is a large knife that is handfilling, especially after I have been carrying a large Sebenza everyday for the past 8 months. Even though its a wood inlaid and is more handfilling than the regular it is by no means as large a handfull as the B-S. I had a mini for about a month before I let it go. Just to thick a handle for a 3" blade. The fullsize though is just right! I took it apart and have mirror polished the liners, blade tang, pivot, and washers. I did notice a thick, .031, washer on the lock side and 3 washers on the non lock side. I also polished the locking side washer down to the same thickness as the three on the opposite side. This improved the centering of the blade when closed, and it is now deadcenter when closed. The polishing helped the opening characteristics by smoothing it up all the way through the opening arc. Also used some CRK florinated (sp.) grease on the pivot to lube it up. While I was polishing up the liners I went ahead and polished the three spacers and hit the edges of the G-10 with some 400 grit paper to smooth it up when gripping tightly. Some Mothers Mag and Aluminum Polish on the blade( several polishings with more to follow) rounded things out and gave it a very distinctive look. Did the thumb button also. BTWthe liner lock engages just to the left of the blade tang when opened, flush.

All in all a very heavy duty folder that will ride in my back pocket. At least for a while

fan! they are great..huge..serious knifes.. agreed they
in fact need a little spit and polish to make them a bit
tamer....as you said..after one of these..the rest are just
toys.. post a pic if you can..sounds like great work..dm

..........the picture thing yet. I am getting ready to take it back apart to work on it a bit more. The more I open it the better it becomes but I can see a couple of spots where I missed getting an even polish and want to work on those a bit more. The thing is a definate handful and I need to work on the scales a bit more to get the sharper corners cut down. Been carrying it in my back pocket whereit rides fairly comfortable. It won't replace my large Sebbie, I am a Sebenzinista to the end:D , but I can see it getting used on some outdoor activities! Will keep you updated as to how the project comes along, and it is a project that I am going to enjoy working on.
