Does anyone know why the flats of the blade on the Tarani folder are stippled?

Thanks for your help!

To assist in two handed opening. When under stress or with wet hands (water, sweat, blood) it is more stable to use a two handed opening technique.

Hi there,

I don't have all the info on this, but if you use what I give you to do some searching on your own you should be well served.

As far as I remember, it has something to do with Tarani's training methods for military and law officers.

Again, this is as far as i remember what I have read... The stippling is meant to make indexing the blade with your off hand easier. Two-handed opening=more stable grip. More stable grip=weapon retention. Weapon retention =good.

It is meant so you can easily open the knife two handed in any condition (with or without gloves, wet, bloody, etc). Flicking a knife open, especially under stress, is just asking to throw the knife across the room. On top of that, when you open the SBT two handed, you know the blade is locked open.

I use it to groom my fingernails...

by the way... very good knife for other funtions as a police officer.
