What is the difference? I am amazed by my Buck/Striders, but there must be something that distinguishes Buck/Striders from the real thing, right?

I have the B/S Solution, Large Tanto, and Small Tanto with the small spearpoint on the way, but now I have been eyeing the real thing...

as far as the folders go the real deal is WAAAAAAY better then the B/S.
the AR/GB just have the fit finish and feel of a real strider, something youve gotta feel for yourself;)
plus the blade geometry on the B/S folders is totally inferior compared to the AR/GB unless your looking for a friggin prybar!

Although i must admit the solution is pretty damn close to the real deal, it can almost outslice the MFS.

but it still dont have the smell!!!!:D

No, it isn’t the same.

Okay it is. Exactly the same…..only different…..

We design the Buck product with a lot of variables in mind. Cost is the largest issue there.

At Strider Knives Inc., we have only one guideline.

Make it the best way you can. Using the very best raw materials. Not the best that we can get.

THE BEST!

Talk to you soon

So the materials are better in the Striders? What materials are used in the Buck/Strider? (ATS-34 and G10, right?) What about the real Striders?

Strider AR, S30V and G-10

But is not just the materials, it is the amount of work that goes into the making of the knife. The details and such.

For example:

Mick,

Would you characterize your involvement like that of Carroll Shelby offering in-put on the Shelby Mustang?

The difference is hard to see in pictures. Once in hand however, it becomes very obvious. There's no comparison.

The Strider Buck is a nice production folder though.

I held a B/S before I got my GB. The B/S is very rough on the hands. The G10 is not rounded and the thumb ramp on the butt is not as comfortable. The blade is nice, but the blade on the real thing is MUCH better. The blade is hand ground and the lock and handle are hand fitted on the real Strider. The double choils on the real Striders make it feel like part of your hand. If you get one, you will feel the difference as well as see it. They are not really in the same catagory. The B/S is a very tuff knife but the Strider is HARDCORE! Oh, and lets not forget the warantee. Lets just say the Buck Strider is a really good knife, and the real Strider is an amazing knife. Hope this helps, Reagan
