After months of thinking and debating about getting a Buck Strider, I finally got one. All I could say when I opened the box was, WOW! As Crocodile Dundee would say, "This is a knife!"

It's larger than I actually thought and very beefy. My model has a solid lockup with no blade play in any direction and the action is very smooth, and more importantly, the edge is sharp. I also like the position of the lanyard hole as well as the pocket clip design.

I've heard people complain about the tanto point on the Strider not being sharp, and about the handle being rough, but after looking over the design and the obvious purpose of the blade shape, I understand why the point has such a thick grind. Also, with the texture on the G-10 scales, loosing one's grip on the knife is unlikely.

This knife is built like a tank, so it is destined to be one of the knives I'll use hard. All in all, I'm glad I bought one and I'm very happy with it. A big "Thank You" goes out to the wonderful folks at Buck Knives and for the folks at Strider Knives for an impressive design. :)
