Buck Strider

This is another knife I was gifted from my aunt. It is a Buck Strider. Now being curious I took off the scales and guess what HK and 2014 were under the scales. This knife looks like there was no modifications done. Unless someone knows better?

The scales are custom as is the blade finish. That model 888 came with a bead blasted blade. At least it looked like bead blast, kind of a grey matte finish. Your example looks like the main part of the blade has been buffed and the secondary bevel looks like it’s been mirror polished.

BADHAMMER You are correct about the knife having a bead blast top part and a mirror shine on the bottom. So the model 888 is what I have. I didn't know they were custom scales. I am going to eBay to see if any are in original condition. Thank You Very Much for your information.

Harold polished the knife and put on Burl Oak scales. Just like the other one you posted.

I think Buck did some limited runs of the 0888 also. Here is one in elk that I have that was done by Buck.

Tecate and wonderboy1377 your knives are winners also. I just like the heft of it. I did not get a sheath for this one but a soft lined case. Maybe my uncle was friends with Harold Klinkhamer. Does anyone know if Harold is still alive?
