I was wondering if someone can help me out. I frequently carry my strider GB. However, because of the price, I worry about it constantly. I would hate to have to replace it. Anyhow...the point is that I would like some feedback from individuals on the Buck-Strider folders. The price is attractive enough that I could afford not to worry quite so much. And it would be incredibly great if someone can send some pictures showing the knife from different angles (particularly the top). Thanks is advance for your help!!

I just purchased a buck strider tanto and it has solid lockup. The liner is thick. The buck strider tanto is only 1/3 the cost of a strider so it is not a huge lost if you lose it. It is not as impressive as a GB/AR but it gives you the most bang for the buck.

IMO id just stick with the GB, the buck/striders are nice if you cant afford the real deal, but once you use the real thing its never the same, besides the edge geometry on the buck/striders sucks compared to the GB/AR

I bought a tanto not too long after they came out and love it. It seems indestructable, and I have used it and abused it well. Granted I haven't handeled the real deal, and I am waiting on one so my opinion could very well change;) . I can tell you though that mine has a solid lockup, and no blade play. The liners are nice and thick as to avoid any failure, and the scales are very roughly textured, but a little uncomfortable.

Are the newer Buck Striders still stamped Buck Strider, or just Buck? The older one I have says Buck Strider, and I want to get a Spearpoint version and the oictures I have seen just say Buck.

im pretty sure they all say buck strider, i think the ones that said buck on them were just protos and pre productions

Hey,
I have a SOLID lockup BG-42 B/S large spearpoint and it is for sale. This is a pre-production knife but does not have the typical blade etching. It is engraved 572/16 ( my club number / the # sold to members). I have carried it some and used it to cut cardboard, it does have a few marks on the blade and handle and it has been resharpened by BUCK. There are also some rust specks appearing. I TALKED WITH JOE HOUSER AND HE WILL BUFF THE ENGRAVING OFF AND RE-BEAD BLAST THIS KNIFE for the next owner at no charge. The starter of this thread has first opportunity to buy it, if he passes I will sell to first offer. The price is $150 shipped. Paypal or $$ order. Peace,
