I just bought the buck strider in the coyote brown. My first impression is the it is a tough knife, but the black blade seems to rub off. It turnd my fingers black and the liner lock it alittle tight. So what does everyone else think o fthis knife?

I have the green handled one. The black coating also came off so I polished it out with flitz. It took a while, but I think it was worth it. It now has a semi dark grey patina similar to that of an old firearm that has lost it's blueing. Aside from it's looks, the knife is a great cutter and very strong. It holds a fine edge.

I have the brown also and have been very happy with it. I sanded down the scales because you could file metal with them. I used alcohol to wipe down the blade to get rid of the excess blace finish. great knife however mine won't pass a spine whack test but i really don't care i'll just keep the sharp side toward what i'm cutting. I believe they have stopped production of the buck/strider line and i hate that. enjoy your knife it's a good one. later, ahgar

Agree with all that has been said in here.

I sold mine, but if I kept it, I would have also lightly sanded the lock to be a little more friendly on my thumb.

It's a good knife value even with poor manufacturing tolerances (err...tolerances).
