I'm thinking of buying a Buck Tac-Lite folder. Does anybody have any experience with one, especially it's locking mechanism?

I have played around with them. They are decent folders. ATS-34 blade with the BOS heat treat stamp of approval. G-10 handles over I believe 410 stainless. Check the QC though. Both of em' locked up differently. One of the blades scraped the liners, and the other was perfect. Not a bad knife if you can find a good price.

Ive got one.The release button was tight at first, but after a few days of open and shut drills. it closes fine. mine has a slight tic against the liner, but i seen no marks on the blade. Edge holding is excellent as one would expect from ATS 34.And it feels good in the hand.
guy:)

Forget it. I went to the store and didn't like what I saw. After handling the knife, the design, while nice enough, didn't appeal to me. The main thing is that the blade has kind of an upward tilt to it, and I didn't care for that. And, if I had wanted to buy one, the two that I looked at had very poor lock-up. I was surprised because I'm used to better quality-control from Buck. The store told me they've had QC problems with the Tac-Lite. These knives that I handled should not have left the factory in the state that they were in. All-in-all, a nice knife if you like the design, but watch out for the questionable QC on this model.
