I just started the world's coolest job, working in a military disposals store, and one of my responsibilities is to source good quality knives as roughly 65% of our customer base are military personnel due to our proximity to Royal Military College, Duntroon (the Australian equivalent of West Point), and the Australian Defence Force Academy.

Right now we have a bunch of no name crap on the shelves, and I'm looking at bringing the quality up to a more 'professional' level with the likes of Cold Steel (yeah I know not everyone's cup of tea so let's not go there), SOG, ESEE, Becker and of course Buck.

My first serious blade was a 650 Nighthawk so we're looking at the newer TOPS version of that knife, as having MOLLE compatible sheaths is an important factor for us. I'm also interested in feedback on the Intrepid, Sentry and CSAR-T fixed blades as well and of course pictures are always welcome. Reports of practical experience from active military personnel would be especially appreciated.

TIA

CSAR-T ONE bad ass knife for the money... VERY durable and tough. I just talked with the BUCK repair shop and they said its VERY Tough and little to no fixes... The NEW intrepid II is a nice knife.I like the grip and I own one. I wish it had serrations on it like the First Interpids. The Sentry I dont own yet...Hope this helps

I'll second the CSAR-T recommendation.
I got one a month ago.
Excellent fit and finish, sharp as a razor, and it's breaking in so that the unlock is getting easier.
It's probably considered a sharpened prybar, but the steel is good and it should stay sharp for a long time.
One heck of a knife.
It's just not the greatest knife for somebody with small hands. :)
