Hi, I have a BUCK THORN KNIFE 0017RWSLE that I got from a retired Buck dealer when I bought all of his display knives. It's been sitting around and I decided to sell some of my knives so I looked it up and it's a limited edition of 500. It's an incredibly beautiful knife and far too nice for me and my "random knives drawer." I'd like to sell it to someone who will appreciate it but have no idea how much to list it for. I'm just looking for what it's reasonably worth. Should I list it on ebay, craiglist, the sales area here? What would you do?
Thanks for the advice! See link for a pic, I couldn't attach it directly.

Sorry, I'm new to this. Can I ask what people would recommend as the best way to sell a knife like this? I'm just looking for advice on how to get this to someone who appreciates it for a fair price

Nice knife. I thought I'd help you out and post your pic here.

As jbmonkey jbmonkey mentioned, values are a perk of membership if you so choose to join our fine forum.

Good luck!

well if ya have the right paid membership you can sell in the for sale forum....filled with knife collector buyers. Ebay seems to work too. other than that some folks sell on instagram and facebook....I dont know much bout those places as I dont play in those...but i see folks mention those places. good luck.....

that particular Buck knife isn't a real popular one. you may get some traction on it in one of those places if you're patient and right buyer stumbles on to it.

A quick google search shows what a few retailers are selling this at. Also, I think yours is missing the belt loop on the sheath, which may lower the value a tad.

Thanks! That was exactly what I was wondering. I know they followed it up with another thorn with different metal and finish that I wasn't as impressed by but if it's not something that would be a "unicorn" that someone would be really excited about, I'll be less discerning about the sale.

Blued 5160 alloy steel from what I understand. Seems like an odd choice in metal, I think they changed to 420hc for the full run

That's some good stuff. While I can't help you with a value, I wish you good fortune on your endeavor.

While for obvious reasons BladeForums would be my first suggestion to offer it for sale, it may get more views on other platforms.

You could use Ebay to maximize your return, by using the bidding process to your advantage.

Here on the forum, we tend to sell to other members at reasonable values to support the community, which is one way we nurture the hobby and each other.

Whatever you choose to do, good luck!
