Me Like!!!!! :D

Pretty cool! Good to see some info on it. Curious about the tool socket on the knife, could be a nice plus in some cases.

Hope they make one which isn't a tanto point.

Also, wonder if that is a chisel ground blade or not?

Hope more good stuff comes from the collaboration!

i had a chance to handle this knife in atlanta!
it's fit and finish is tops !:D
yes pun intended
and fits well in my hand
is what i would carry to a constructin job today rather then a 110
or were ever failure is not an option ;)

I like this knife. I really like that G10 on the Alpha/Bravo frame. I wonder if you can swap an Alpha Hunter DP blade in that frame. It seems like a lot of options here.
Goose did it with a Bravo and Alpha. Interesting!!

I got a Buck Bravo and I really like it. I guess I have to try this one too! :D
TOUGH looking knife.

OK, what's the name of this Bad Boy?
I hope it's not Charlie??? Just kidding but it would follow.
First two iterations on this frame was Alpha, then Bravo...

Goose where you at...I would have thought this one would cause a little bit of a heart flutter for you.

from BUCK KNIVES INC.
In a collaboration of Buck Knives and TOPS, the Model TBT-001 liner-lock folder (with a .065-inch liner), has a tough G10 handle that is a variation on those from Buck's rugged Bravo and Bravo Rescue models. The TOPS-designed blade is a 3 1/2 inch modified Tanto blade, made of 0.175 inch thick, high-grade ATS 34 stainless steel. For optimum performance, the blades are heat-treated to the exacting standards of world famous heat-treater Paul Bos, and finished with Buck's advanced Edge2x technology that makes the blade sharper out of the box, hold an edge longer and easier to re-sharpen. There are several carrying options, with a reversible steel clip for pocket or belt, and a sheath is also available.

Looking at these numbers, its going to be a heavy one. 3/16ths on the blade and 1/16ths on the liner.

Maybe they ought to call it "The Brute." No pre-sale info that I could find although September is supposed to be the availability month.

Well I intend to have one a soon as they are available.

Here you go JoeBob.

PRESS RELEASE

First Buck/TOPS Tactical Knife Introduced

New collaborative effort ready to unveil first of their rugged new designs

POST FALLS, IDAHO First results from the new collaboration Buck Knives has forged with TOPS Knives provide solid evidence that blending the talents of two Idaho knifemakers can produce a new series of knives designed to be reliable tools for those who protect and serve our country and its residents.

As announced at the 2009 annual Blade Show in Atlanta, the collaborators have combined features and benefits for which these two firms have long been known and respected. Their first knife, the Model TBT-001 liner-lock folder (with a .065” liner), has a tough G10 handle that is a variation on those from Buck's rugged Bravo and Bravo Rescue models. It's planned for a September launch.

The TOPS-designed blade is a 3-1/2” modified Tanto blade, made of 0.175” thick, high-grade ATS 34 stainless steel. For optimum performance, the blades are heat-treated to the exacting standards of world famous heat-treater Paul Bos, and finished with Buck's advanced Edge2xTM technology that makes the blade sharper out of the box, hold an edge longer and easier to re-sharpen. There are several carrying options, with a reversible steel clip for pocket or belt, and a sheath is also available. MSRP, $125-150.

Adding versatility to the Buck/Tops TBT-101, there is a optional tool kit available. This handy kit includes a hex driver, which attaches securely to the compatible socket on the end of the knife handle, along with multiple bits and screwdrivers.

“We view this as another healthy step toward fulfilling our American Commitment, bringing together two companies in the USA to meet knife needs of this fine group of people who protect and serve our country,” said CJ Buck, president and CEO of the Post Falls, Idaho, company. “It's especially satisfying to team up with a quality firm like TOPS.”

Mike Fuller, owner/president of Idaho Falls-based TOPS Knives, agreed, saying, “In this ever-changing world we live in, we are looking forward to this partnership that allows us to bring to market the best tools possible for the people who protect us on a daily basis. With many companies going overseas for production, we are pleased to join with Buck in a mutual dedication to staying right here in the USA.”

I hope they update the Bravo with a thicker blade and liner lock someday. The design of that knife is kind of messed up as is.
Right now I really wish I had got a G-10 Tyrade instead, though the Besh wedge is pretty sweet.

OK guys, who's got the inside info on when this bad boy is coming to market? Hint Hint Joe that mean you!! :)

I have'nt been into tantos since the 80's,but might have to get one of those. It would be nice to offer different blade style options though.
