Has anyone been lucky enough to see/ touch the new Buck ~ TOPS folder ?

I have just seen it in a K.I magazine last week, curious to hear peoples thoughts.

regards, Tim

You guys will love it! The knife is a brick and I am sure you will all be impressed with the overall thickness of the blade and the ridgitity of the frame. Great in hand feel and if you accidentally lock yourself out of the house, no problem you have this guy in your back pocket.

The prototype specs (per magazine article)

- USA made alledgedly
- Liner Lock .065 inch
- G10 handle
- 3 1/2 inch modified tanto blade (ATS 34 .175 inch)
- Paul Bos heat treat

- optional tool kit (hex driver, screwdriver, multiple bits) attaches to the end of the knife handle.

No picture of the tool side of the knife, unsure how it stores the tools be w'ell wait and see.

Tim.

They will be out soon. TiNi has the specs right, I don't think any of you will be dissapointed. I will see about getting a few pics for you guys.

Thank you both for the specs and (attempted) pics! ;)

Sounds like a great collaboration!

I found it! I will try to paste the pic here as well. Pretty neat looking take off of the Bravo design!

In a collaboration of Buck Knives and TOPS, the Model TBT-001 liner-lock folder (with a .065-inch liner), has a tough G10 handle that is a variation on those from Buck's rugged Bravo and Bravo Rescue models. The TOPS-designed blade is a 3 1/2 inch modified Tanto blade, made of 0.175 inch thick, high-grade ATS 34 stainless steel. For optimum performance, the blades are heat-treated to the exacting standards of world famous heat-treater Paul Bos, and finished with Buck's advanced Edge2x technology that makes the blade sharper out of the box, hold an edge longer and easier to re-sharpen. There are several carrying options, with a reversible steel clip for pocket or belt, and a sheath is also available.

Heng em likes his knives like he likes his women - thick and oversized!! :p

Only thing I am curious about before I bite, is since this looks like the same platform as the Alpha Hunter folder, is will the liner lock be thicker. (not the liner, but the liner lock)

Thanks for the pic link Postfalls, I'm not a huge liner lock guy and I really dislike Tanto style blades or Besch wedge... anything with what looks like a pig snout but that knife looks tooo good to have to pass up-love the scales and the snout has been modified/swept enough to take away the tanto look:thumbup:

Not a problem. Sorry I couldnt get the pic in the link. I like the look and design as well, but I will see. Might be a little too tough for me ;)
